6 week Culture Course - March - August or September

ALL PROFESSIONAL ART MATERIALS PROVIDED

Very suitable for 'GAP' students or anyone wanting a 6 week break learning painting and the culture of Spain.

The minimum Age is 18 years - there is no maximum

DISCOVER the culture of Spain. LOOK below to discover the events and festivals occuring in Spain during your chosen time period.

LANGUAGE You have two Spanish lessons a week.

PAINT with professional artists and learn how to paint professionally. In oils, watercolour or acrylics..

EXPERIENCE how to run an art gallery and professional art studio.

TEACH experience how to teach art.

PRICE IS £3000 for 6 weeks painting and learning

Accommodation is in self catering apartments and is your choice.

We can give you lists of self catering apartments and help you find accommodation.

Monda is a buzzing village with lots of late night cafes.

Culture Course - MARCH 28TH - 9TH MAY 2010

SEMANA SANTA - March 28th - April 4th

A very important time in Spain when there are lots of parades, marching bands and celebrations.
We take you to the best. We also give you lectures on the Catholic Culture of Spain + The History of Spanish Art.

May 1st Feria - Spring Festival

Every town has a festival which features flamenco dancing, local foods/drinks, horsemanship, local artists, authentic Andalucian costumes etc. Of course, in typical Spanish style, the partying continues ALL day and ALL night.

This course also includes visits to the Picasso Museum in Malaga and art galleries in Marbella and surrounding areas.

Culture Course - 8th AUGUST - 19TH SEPT

3rd WEEK OF AUGUST - MALAGA FAIR - 13/22nd

The annual Malaga fair in August is a week-long street party with plenty of flamenco and 'fino' (sherry).The fair commemorates the re-conquest of the city by Isabella and Ferdinand in 1487 and lasts for ten full festive days.

1ST WEEK IN SEPTEMBER Feria de Pedro Romero Feria. Rhonda

Although essentially a ´bullfighting´ festival there are other parades of horse drawn carriages through the streets of Ronda with everyone dressed in 18th century Goyesque costumes. The matadors themselves also wear this traditional attire. The streets have coloured balls suspended.

SEPTEMBER 6-13TH FESTIVAL DE LA LUNA MORA IN GUARO

The streets of Guaro are lined with tiny night lights and there are stalls selling food and trinkets and there are fireworks. People party all night long.

This course also includes visits to the Picasso Museum in Malaga and art galleries in Marbella and surrounding areas.

Culture Course - 26TH SEPT - 1ST NOV

SEPTEMBER - OPTIONAL TRIP TO MADRID - 2 nights - 3 days.

Visits to the Prado, Thyssen Galleries. Walkable city rich with architecture and culture with some wonderful restaurants. We take the fast train to Madrid from Malaga - stopping off at Cordoba. Rich architecture, inspiring painting locations.

NOVEMBER The feast of San Martín

A lot of eating and drinking and tasting of pork.

This course also includes visits to the Picasso Museum in Malaga and art galleries in Marbella and surrounding areas.
