Our first students tested the Studio and our programmes
and look what they created!

We gave the students a wide selection of locations and taught them various techniques.
The Studio has Brand New Equipment
There is a wonderful shop in Marbella called Ofiplus where we have bought Professional Studio easels & field easels (the great 'box' kind). You will be able to select your own materials - chosing watercolour or oils or pastels and your canvas or paper and brushes etc when we go on location. Put them in your 'box' easel and you are ready to go!
All the equipment is waiting in the warehouse until we can move it into the Studio in August. Really exciting!
We will paint in acrylics in the Studio - in the afternoons. Acrylics are too fast drying to use outside.
We're still sourcing the reception desk & the Industrial drinks fridge which will hold water, soft drinks etc for you to help yourself to.
The Gallery seating has been bought in the UK and will be shipped over. It's fantastic - very contemporary and stunning purple and magenta colours!
We tried our hardest to find the seating in Spain but we weren't able to.
We are learning Spanish daily(!)
As we all have a little bit of French it is not quite as difficult as we thought. Although the way we speak Spanish is one way - it seems totally different from the natives! But we will get there!
It has been a very exciting two months!
July 2008
It was in May 2008 that Caroline decided she wanted to open a Professional Art Studio in Spain. She had been receiving a lot of phone calls and emails asking her:
- if she would teach in Spain, France and Greece
- or was there a JoeDaisy Studio in Spain?
- Or was there a JoeDaisy Studio anywhere in Europe?
SO! Caroline being Caroline hopped on a plane with two of her staff. They stayed at a Hotel in Mijas - Hotel Hacienda Puerto Del Sol - web site - which they would recommend - although it is 'isolated' and you need a car.
Caroline, Cat & Alex travelled around all of inland Costa Del Sol - looking for the most suitable place to open a Professional Art Studio.
We have to say at this point - it would never have been possible without Ruth from 'Viva Estates'.
Eventually they found the place. Monda - only 10 minutes from Marbella - yet a world apart from the coastal areas. Monda is a small beautiful white village - very accessible from the main road up from Marbella - yet in a 'time warp' of its own.
Fantastic people - fantastic bars and restaurants - fantastic architecture - fantastic little white streets - fantastic fiestas in the Village Square. Fantastic 'Real Spain'
Caroline and her three companions got 'goose bumps' when they walked round Monda. The village is very beautiful, the light is fantastic and the Spanish people smiled at them and welcomed them in the bars and restaurants.
They left Spain reluctantly - leaving Ruth to find them 'that perfect Studio property'
Ruth - being an excellent 'finder' found them their 'Perfect Professional Art Studio' and Caroline & Alex hopped on a plane again to see it. This time they stayed at the Refugio Juanar in Monda.

With the help of their Spanish Lawyer - JoeDaisy signed the contract and The Professional Art Studio and Gallery Space will open in September 2008.
JoeDaisy Studio Spain will be offering their usual exceptional courses - this time with the glorious light of Southern Spain - and the glorious Spanish food and the glorious Spanish hospitality.
